The Palacio Astoreca Hotel is housed in a national monument that has been restored into a stunning and sylishly designed and decorated new boutique hotel. This is Valparaiso restored to its full grandeur but updated to give you the modern luxury with a 1920s feel. And its privileged location gives you spectacular views.
The 23-room hotel opened at the end of 2012. It is housed in two buildings: the palace, a completely restored national monument, and an older house, whose original façade has been conserved. Both buildings have thus been restored to the style and elegance that they had lost over time. You have oustanding views of Valparaiso and Viña de Mar from here. There is a spa, an excellent restaurant, wine cellar, bar and a library,
It is located at the heart of the historical city centre in Valparaiso (or 'Valpo" as it is affectionately known by the locals). Valpo is set on 45 rolling hills and the hotel is high up on one of them, on one of the most exclusive lookout points of the natural amphitheatre overlooking the magnificent Bay of Valparaiso. It is on ?Cerro Alegre? (literal translation is 'Happy Hill'), just steps from the famous alley ?Paseo Yugoslavo? and the Fine Arts Museum, the Barburizza Palace.
The terrace of the Palacio Astoreca Hotel provides a spectacular view of Valparaiso bay with its boats, cruise ships and, occasionally, submarines. It is an ideal place to have lunch or simply a cup of tea with ?home-made? macaroons or enjoy an evening cocktail in a peaceful setting.
