The Hotel Plaza Grande is a grand boutique hotel in a historic building on a privileged location along Quito?s Independence Square. The lot where the hotel sits was a mansion given to the famous conqueror Francisco Pizarro, during the founding of Quito by the Spanish in the 16th century. It was later inhabited by the wealthiest and more recognized families of the city, until the early 20th century, when it became the first luxury hotel of the city.
