THE WONDERS OF CHICHEN ITZA A LA CARTE STYLE
No one should miss this popular Mayan archaeological marvel and World Heritage UNESCO site – this private guided excursion offers you the luxury of avoiding huge crowds and extreme heat allowing you to appreciate the impressive collection of ancient monuments and learn about the amazing knowledge of this ancient civilization in the best possible way, with all the luxury touches including a gourmet lunch a la carte style. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a swim in an ancient sink hole that is a feature in this Mayan territory.
To ensure you have the best possible experience of the amazing ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá, you have an early start from your hotel. Located approximately 2 hours west from Cancun and the Caribbean coast, you will be enjoying the ride in the comfort of your air-conditioned private vehicle with your guide. You will have some time to learn about the amazing ancient Mayan civilization that is about 3000 years old.
On arrival at Chichén Itzá, you will be given an introduction to this ancient city before you embark on your visit. Chichén Itzá, whose name means ""in the mouth at the well of Itza"", was in its time of grandeur (between 800 and 1200 A.D.), the center of political, religious and military power in Yucatán, if not all of Southeastern Mesoamerica.
You will get to understand why Chichen Itza is the most visited archaeological site on the Yucatan Peninsula, famed for its extraordinary architectonic beauty. When the Spaniards arrived, it had been long abandoned, a victim of the Mayapan wars. Somewhere between 1196 and 1441 the Mayan culture collapsed on the northern shores of the peninsula. The Spanish conquistadors found the buildings in ruins; their names and purposes lost in time.
Your experience will continue with a short private trip to one of the natural sinkholes nearby which was also a Mayan sacred site, Cenote Ikil. The cenote is open to the sky and surrounded by vines some of which reach all the way down to the water along with small waterfalls. You should try and take a dip in the sacred cenote and enjoy this Mayan site, nearby to Mayan villages where descendants of the great Mayan empire still live.
After you Mayan adventure at the cenote, a gourmet treat awaits you at Hacienda Chichen, Yucatan's best Mayan jungle resort, before your private ride back to your hotel. You will have the chance to enjoy at your own leisure and away from the crowds an a la carte lunch Mayan gourmet style with organic local produce by chef Josue Cime. It’s a perfect luxurious way to end your exclusive experience at this Natural Wonder of the World.
