The treks and horseback rides at explora will help you to discover the landscapes and wildlife in the Patagonian pampa and Andes mountains of this southernmost corner of the continent, as well as the unique way of life of its human inhabitants: the gauchos. Each day at explora Patagonia, you can choose from a wide range of explorations, with recommendations from your expert guide. They may be on foot or on horseback; a couple of hours long or a full day; gentle or more physically demanding. Every evening, an explora guide will meet with you in the bar or living room area to tell you about the explorations planned for the following day and helps you with the difficult task of choosing between the different options, all of them exciting. Patagonia is situated in the southernmost corner of America, and comprises the Patagonian steppe or pampa; and the Patagonian Andes mountains. The pampa, consists of broad grassy plains which are ideal for grazing and livestock rearing. The Patagonian Andes are the southernmost section of the Andes mountain range, which runs the length of South America. The natural life at the world's southern tip is abundant and surprising with close to 500 species of animals and many plants, which have evolved over thousands of years to adapt to the terrain, forceful winds, low temperatures and incessant rain. Explora Patagonia offers more than 30 different treks and horseback rides, The treks go through little-used footpaths to arrive at the most isolated corners of this area, which are rich in flora, fauna and adventures. The horseback rides start at the stables or the quincho and are always accompanied by both a guide and a gaucho. The horses have been specially trained for explorations by explora, suitable for experts riders as well as novices and children. A basic course is offered for those who wish to learn how to ride horseback. Explorations are safe and are made up of groups with a maximum of 8 people, accompanied by an expert bilingual guide. All explora guides speak excellent Spanish and English and some also speak French and German. Explora guides have substantial knowledge of the area and all have Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, which guarantees that they have the expertise and skills necessary to provide assistance to people in remote places.
