Amazon - Peru
Considered as one of the last frontiers on earth, the Peruvian part of the Amazon Rainforest boosts an astonishing biodiversity. The Amazon comprises 60% of the overall territory of Peru which has the second largest portion of the Amazon after Brazil. The largest part of the Amazon is in the Amazonas region in Peru’s north.
This is the lowland jungles and explorations in this region are centered in the tropical town of Iquitos. Further east along the foothills of the Andes is the highland jungle. Here the climate is still hot but a little more temperate.
As in Brazil, the most luxurious and comfortable way to explore this vast region of rainforest is by a luxury cruise which allows you to witness an abundance of colors, thanks to the huge variety of plants and flowers. You will be able to enjoy the natural wonder from the comfort of the cruise luxury, yet you will be in the middle of the jungle exploring the region much like the first explorers here except for the super comfortable lodgings and gourmet meals!
You will encounter a variety of relatively virgin rainforests and wildlife nevertheless and have an authentic adventure in one of the most bio-diverse last frontiers on earth. You will also hear nothing much but the sounds of the jungle that come mainly from birds that you most likely have never heard before. The sheer beauty of those sounds in combination with being absolutely secluded, knowing that you are currently travelling within the greatest natural habitat, will make your luxury adventure in the Amazon a truly unforgettable experience.
