South Patagonia - Chile

The astonishing wild beauty of Chile’s southern Patagonia is unsurpassed, where over 50% of the area is protected wilderness, serving as a haven of diverse explorations, as well as sports and adventure activities such as trekking, mountain climbing, fly-fishing, and horseback riding to just name a few. It is also an area of isolation where one can escape into wide open landscapes alone and enjoy the tranquility and meditative silence with nothing but the sound of the wilderness. Words that best describe the region must include vast, exotic, wild and untamable, infinitely beautiful and above all remote.
Torres del Paine is the region’s best known National Park with its recognizable towers where, besides being able to observe condors, foxes and even pumas it is home to ice fields, majestic glaciers, lakes and lagoons. The glaciers and mountains are the backdrop for the most astonishing sunrise or sunsets you will ever be seeing anywhere on the planet. It’s no wonder you will find some amazingly remote and luxurious lodges here that are set up to enable you to have the luxury of truly experiences the wonders of nature here.
Traveling further south, you will encounter the world's southernmost trekking route, which is located on the mythical Tierra del Fuego. Here you sail through fjords, canals and the Strait of Magellan while gazing out onto hundreds of glaciers. In addition, you will also bear witness to several penguin colonies, dolphins, orcas and humpback whales. Over one hundred of the latter can be seen in Marino Francisco Coloane Park, Chile’s first marine park and the only place in the southern hemisphere where humpback whales feed besides Antarctica, the only destination that is further south.
